Maureen the hypothesis is that this is the bird that was observed on the Florida panhandle. The last sighting in Florida (that I found) was the end of June.  After Barry the bird shows up in Tennessee last Saturday (July 13) then is found this weekend in Missouri.
No bands etc to show it as a captive bird

Sorry if this post bursts any bubbles, but how likely is it that this is a wild flamingo and not an escapee?

Ok Iím just trying to pass along information as best as I can. My only goal is to help people see and find the bird.

Edit that to say a large family farm that we didn't want to pester with asking permission.   They are friendly!

Other edits as required.

Rob Francis has apparently just relocated the American Flamingo on CR 404

Likely in the same pool or area as yesterday.

From New Madrid take HWY WW east follow it to teh junction of AB north of Donaldson Point CA. Take AB south to the end of pavement. Go up the levee and turn west on CR 404 which is the gravel road on top of the levee.  Go about 1.3 miles until you can see a shallow pool out in the farm fields about 3/4 to one mile out in private farmland.

This is NOT a friendly farmer so please do not trespass off the levee.

I hope some more folks are able to see this remarkable bird before it leaves.
