There are still a lot of geese in the vicinity of South Farms in Columbia. I observed a large flock looking for a suitable landing site there late this afternoon. All seemed to be Canada Geese.

There is so little open water in the northern half of the state most waterfowl have skedaddled your direction. Enjoy the geese!

I counted well over 600 Canada Goose north of Joplin,
Jasper County. They were 1.3 miles north of the jcts. of
North Main and Hwy 171, then west a few blocks on old
Hwy. 43 the sign said. This morning.
No collars or leg bands were observed. All CAGO, no
other geese were present. Three small ponds also had
50 mallards. The area was all suburban.
Three adult bald eagles and one imm. were also enjoyed.
I don't recall that many geese in one place here in Joplin
ever.
Larry, in Joplin.
