I found a surprising variety of shorebirds today in and around the small puddles from the recent dirt work for the new wetland/grassland complex that is in progress at Swan Lake NWR. These included - 1 Least Sandpiper1 Spotted Sandpiper1 Pectoral Sandpiper2 Baird's Sandpiper2 Upland Sandpipers2 Wilson's Snipe4 Lesser Yellowlegs6 Killdeer
Lots of Horned Lark there too ,a few Bobolinks, and a flock of 10 -12 Dickcissels  Some other flocks of birds observed on the refuge- 
4 Green-winged Teal12 Great Egret15 Bobwhite 25 Wild Turkey30 Canada Geese32 Baird's Sandpiper - at Taylor Point on north side of Silver Lake40 Blue-winged Teal  -          "       "250+ White Pelican  -            "      "
Enjoyed the cool 69 degree day, but got NO rain here. Bummer!
