The immature white Ibis first reported July 11 continues at Kaskaskia
Island. The bird is feeding in a pond on South Kingshighway. For those
unfamiliar with the location, you cross the bridge west from St. Mary, MO,
then turn right (south) on Kingshighway. Follow South Kingshighway about 2
miles; between Little Woods Lane and La Grand Rue there is a pond along the
left (east) side of the road. The ibis is feeding in this pond and seems
pretty unconcerned about people on the road.

This morning while watching the ibis I also observed a Black Tern foraging
in flight over the pond.
