Hadn’t birded the lake for awhile, so headed there this morning. Last night’s storms toppled every porta-potty and scattered metal trash cans, but did very little tree damage compared to residential areas. Found 2 Scissor-tailed Flycatchers and an Orchard Oriole at Shelter 12. At the marina it looks like the Purple Martins have taken their houses back from the House Sparrows. Best birding was along the road to Shelter 14. Nice flock of Yellow Warblers, a few Yellow-rumps, Blue-headed, Warbling and a surprise Philadelphia Vireo, Eastern Kingbird and Bluebird, 3 male Baltimore Orioles and a Northern Mockingbird making sure he was noticed. Found a few more Yellow Warblers, a Great-crested Flycatcher and a couple of Eastern Phoebes while walking around the shelter area. Full list on Ebird.
