Birded area described by Melissa Roach from 0700-0830 in the rain.  No sighting.  

From Hwy 32, east on Hwy 144 2 miles to large "Hawn State Park" welcome sign on right.  20+ acre field recently burned.  Crossbills observed Friday and Saturday feeding in scorched shortleaf pines within and west of field.  Level path around perimeter.  

May try again after work.
