I’ve had a female sapsucker coming to a suet cake hanging off the back porch. Although I’ve never seen her at the heated bird bath, it’s just around the corner of the house and may have been the original attraction.

This winter I've had a sapsucker coming to the heated water when all else is dry or frozen. I've seen them in the yard before, but never on the deck. It comes only for the water, not food. Also coming to the water are bluebirds and robins and a Yellow-rumped Warbler.
