Workshop Description:

Want to learn more about shorebird ID and management?  Then join us for the Shorebird ID Workshop at Eagle Bluffs on August 11 and 12, co-hosted by the Audubon Society of Missouri (ASM) and the Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC).  Workshop participants will experience a mix of classroom presentations on shorebird ID and habitat management followed by field sessions on Eagle Bluffs to practice ID.  Although the class will take place in central Missouri, the birds we will study and see in the field are relevant to Missourians and MDC staff, especially wetland managers, across the state.  Instructors include retired state ornithologist Brad Jacobs and Eagle Bluffs Area Manager Clayton Light.

The workshop includes lots of time on Eagle Bluffs with easy walking, possibly in some mud, depending on weather.

ASM members and MDC staff are both welcome to attend this workshop.  Participants must understand that habitat management topics will be discussed for the benefit of land managers, but these topics are very important (and hopefully interesting) for birders as well.
