I observed the TCHE between 4 and 430pm today at CCNWR. As you drive away from the HQ the road takes a sharp right. continue down the road , a marshy area opens up on right. There will be a "tree island" on the right side. The heron was right before you get to the tree island. He was associating with 5 little blue herons ( the TCHE is just slightly larger than the little blues).  Also present were black-necked stilts and a couple black terns along with lots of egrets and herons to sort through.
