There was an Avocet at Riverlands this afternoon about 2pm. He was on the edge of the mud closest to the main river channel about half way between the tip of Ellis Island and the dam. I also had 8 semipalmated Plovers, some semipalmated and least sandpipers and 1 Dunlin. Yesterday there was about 10 Dunlins mixed in with some yellowlegs. Also today Spotted and Solitaty sandpipers. These small flocks seem to come and go alot. By the time you work all the mudflats when you go back over them there is a good chance there could be different birds. Total for today probably only about 50 total shorebirds.
