I went to Riverlands this morning hoping to reel in lots of shorebirds. They were quite scarce.
Spotted Sandpipers - total of 5 in the first two wet areas south on Wise Road after the overhead wires.
Short-billed Dowitchers - 9 at West Alton boat launch area.
Also had a White-eyed Vireo calling across Wise Road from the Heron Pond parking lot as well as a dead raccoon in the road next to the parking lot.
