North St. Francois County was very birdy today after the rain. Actually my FOY Ruby-throated Hummingbird arrived at the feeder toward the last of the rain, about 11:00 A.M.
Cedar Lake had lots of waterfowl all afternoon.

Ruby-throated Hummingbird - 1
Hermit Thrush - 1
Blue-gray Gnatcatchers - at least 2
Ruby-crowned Kinglets - everywhere
Purple Finch - 3 still hanging around
American Wigeon - 1
COMMON LOON- 1  very cooperative, nearly full breeding plumage
Pied-billed Grebes - 81 at least!
Lesser Scaup
Greater Scaup
Ring-necked Ducks
Gadwall
N. Shovelers
Green-winged Teal
Blue-winged Teal
Sparrows - Swamp, Song, Field
Coots, Mallards, B. Kingfisher, all the usual woodland suspects
