Very high winds made birding difficult, and was access a bit more limited than the manager's survey route, but birding was pretty darn good, anyway--40 some-odd species, including more ducks than have been reported at Eagle Bluffs recently.  The pelicans adorned their muskrat mound, making it look like a big snowball in the lake.  A surprise was 180 Rusty Blackbirds at the southwest corner of Swan Lake and on grass near the manager's home. 

Made a swing through Van Meter SP on way north.  Road up the hill is still gated shut.

Not much moving besides the wind at Boone's Lick SHS until I was ready to leave.  When the flock came in, it included a Brown Creeper.
