About 3:30 pm today an immature crested caracara was reported by mike doyen from the area just south of the visitors center at Prairie State Park. He said he saw it from the road about 400 yards south of the visitors center sitting in the top of a shrub. He could see the creamy white head and the black crown and crest. He was watching it through his scope and it fly down in the valley to the east of the road. Mike is currently there still trying to locate the bird again this afternoon.
