I got quite the surprise today while pishing a brushy area at Juden Creek
CA. Along with the sparrows that emerged, came a first-year male Indigo
Bunting, with mottled brown and blue plumage. I guess you could call it a
very late migrant or a casual winter visitor or just another one of those
great things about birding.
