finally got a chance to get over to longview lake this morning. saw a western grebe in a raft of buffleheads, ruddies and green-winged teal. there was also an eared grebe in
the raft and at times it was next to the western. nice size comparison. only other waterfowl were gadwall, mallards, ring-necks and lesser scaup. had a flyover of greater white-
fronted geese. only gulls were ring-billed.
for anyone interested in going to longview tomorrow, there's a half-marathon going on 8 am to 1 pm and roads around the lake will be closed to traffic.
