Wasn't birding per se this eve at Castlewood SP but while running along
the Kiefer creek trail noticed a lot of activity near the water.
Basically seeing birds in areas where they have been absent all
summer.Black and white warblers as well as american redstarts behind the office
Both nest (black and white rare nester) but are usually habitat specific
and not usually found in the shrubby stuff along the creek until
post-breeding dispersal or fall migration
The most obvious sign that Fall migration is starting was the number of
nighthawks I saw both at Castlewood and driving back home around Ballwin this
eve
