Fairly birdy this morn at Marais Temps Clare CA,St Charles Co

 -young hooded mergansers
 -about a dozen or more LEAST BITTERNS.Very vocal between 600 and 700 am this morn.Best spot seemed to be the NE corner of the large pool. Just watch for birds flying above the lotus.Saw one juv following an adult around

-couple of solitary sandpipers migrating back south

-at least one bb-cuckoo calling in the woods around the handicap hunter blind.Did not show though.Be careful.there are yellow-billeds around here giving their single note call as well as least bitterns calling near the main pool

-failed to find any willow flycatchers

-one of the biggest spiny softshell turtles Ive ever seen
