I should have added, a female SUMMER TANAGER, photographed, was record early by 4 days in Cass County 10 April 2014.
Hi Greg and MoBirders: Unfortunately the early/late dates are a struggle to keep up with. So, I hope this does not disappoint Greg, but already this year a male was reported (via eBird) 10 April in Phelps County and another 13 April in Carter County, and last year a male was observed 15 April.

Charley Burwick, Jill Hayes, and I had a brilliant male Scarlet Tanager on Red Bridge Road in Christian County today. According to Birds of Missouri and Showme-birds, the previous early date for this species was April 17, 1977. Photos were taken.
