There's a nice little patch of open water on Lake Remembrance in Blue Springs. This is the lake that can be seen from I-70, on the north side, between Grain Valley and Blue Springs. The 19 Trumpeter Swans that were seen in recent days were absent this afternoon, but will likely return. Best to look for them early or late in the day. Greater Scaup photos here:
