While observing these tundra transients on Friday, a basic question(s) was always on the forefront: why did they settle there? How many open fields, tributaries, lakes did they fly over to not only be at but to blend in so gracefully as they do at Long Branch.

Am I the only one to contemplate the reasons?
Thanks in advance for speculations/insights!
