Subject: Squaw Creek this morning

There were quite a few waterfowl at the refuge this morning. Eagle Pool was pretty much covered with American Coot (thousands), a smattering of Pied-billed Grebe and various species of duck here and there. Pintail Pool had a nice selection of Greater White-fronted Goose, Canada Goose, Wood Duck, Gadwall, Mallard, Blue-winged Teal, Northern Pintail, Green-winged Teal, Ruddy Duck, Lesser Scaup and Ruddy Duck. Ring-billed, Franklin's and Bonaparte's Gulls join the waterfowl assemblage. I only saw one adult Bald Eagle. Snow Goose did not make a showing yet. It won't be long!
