I birded Long Branch SP (Macon Co.) yesterday morning. I always wanted to
walk the "Little Chariton Prairie Trail" for sparrows (I always feel
jealous when I see Steve K. sparrow posts) and finally did yesterday and
was not disappointed. Sparrow species included:
Le Conte's - 1
Lincoln - 3
Swamp - 16
Song - 4
Field - 12
Chipping - 2
Savannah - 3
White-throated - 12
White-crowned - 1
Dark-eyed junco - 4
Had my FOS Herring Gull (2 imm.). Also on the lake Bonapart's, Franklin's
and increasing numbers of Ring-billed Gulls, 6 Redheads, a Ring-necked
Duck, Northern Shovelers, and few Blue-winged Teal.

Today did a quick trip to Thousand Hills SP (Adair Co.)
Eastern Screech-owl - 1 (responded to my poor imitation)
Hermit Thrush - 2
Fox Sparrow - 1 (FOS)
Ruby-crowned Kinglet - 2
White-throated Sparrow - 8
Orange-crowned Warbler - 1
Yellow-rumped Warbler - 65 (literally everywhere)
