For those who would like to know what the access situation is at Riverlands:

(1) Riverlands Way is open from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.  This is identical to the hours of the Audubon Center at the office building.  The Audubon Center staff are unlocking and relocking the gate just past Wise Rd for the Corps staff who are furloughed.  All parking areas are officially closed  as are all trails.   However, and unofficially, with almost all Corps staff on furlough and therefore no one to enforce the trail closures, it would appear that individual judgement is in order as to whether or not it is prudent to use the trails.

(2) Jones Confluence park is open the same hours as Riverlands Way.  However, the road to the dam is totally blocked off.

(3) The Audubon Staff are feeling quite overworked as they are filling some of the Corps work slots during the closure.  They are considering closing the Center on Mondays, Tuesdays or both, but have not yet decided what to do.  So, beginning next week you might consider calling the Center before you go to Riverlands to ensure that the gate to Riverlands Way is open.

I did not check the Orton Rd end of things.
