This morning I birder for a an hour or so on the Moss Rock Trace and Raccoon Run along Wears Creek and up to just past the Raccoon Run Spur.  http://extra.mdc.mo.gov/documents/area_brochures/3600map.pdf

31 bird species Including nine warbler species:

4  Nashville Warblers

2 Chestnut-sided Warblers

2 magnolia Warblers

2 Black-and-white Warblers

3 American Redstarts

3 Ovenbirds

2 Common Yellowthroats

2 Wilson’s Warblers

1 Canada Warbler

Most of the warblers were on Raccoon Run trail standing on the trail next to the Tallgrass Prairie on the western edge.  Some species were in the tall woods with the old field cedars along the Wears Creek branch.

Maybe the big wave of migrant warblers are about to show up. One can always hope.
