Among the hoards of blackbirds at the feeder today is a new yard bird.  The female Great-tailed Grackle is larger and  has a different gait from the Common Grackles, more swagger. Her beak is longer and she uses it aggressively to fend off competitors for food. The most obvious difference, of course,  is color- mostly brown with light, tawny throat.
