A female Evening Grosbeak visits a bird feeder in the Alexandria/Wayland area of Clark Co. Missouri on a daily and fairly regular half-hour basis. It is usually seen from 6:30 am to 10:00 am and has been seen occasionally during the late morning and afternoon. Joyce and Larry have indicated that visitors are welcome to come and see the bird. Please call Joyce ahead of time to let her know you want to see the bird.
Directions: according to Joyce.
If you come up U.S. Highway 61 North in Clark County the highway splits south of Wayland to 27 North and U.S. 61 going east. Take State Route 27 north toward Iowa. After you pass the Flying J Truck Stop (at cross continue north on 27 about 2 miles and turn left onto Clark County Route C. Continue on C toward the northwest for 1.9 miles. Joyce and Larry’s house is on the right side of the road, you will see an ugly green metal building in a field, a garage and a 3 story white house with a burgundy metal roof. The mail box has Shafer-Fowler on it. Pull into the drive and you can see the feeders easily.
