|The adult female Long-tailed Duck (formerly known as Oldsquaw) remained in the vicinity of the three concrete fishing piers on the north side of Lake Contrary for about one hour. It was napping, preening, resting and diving occassionally until a Great Blue Heron and a dog caused it to fly to the southeast. It might remain on the lake for a few days. I had one in 2005 stay from December 1 to December 4 on this lake.|
I also viewed a PRAIRIE FALCON in the vicinity of Muskrat Lake. It was swooping down on a Northern Harrier for some reason and then retired to the cross member of a utility pole in the area.
