I had two Red Crossbills in Pere Marquette park today (near Grafton, IL). Red-breasted nuthatches and cedar waxwings were also abundant.

One female crossbill seen (by others, not me) at Carondelet about 2:45.  A couple of Red Breated nuthatches and a couple of big hawks (Red Tails?).

No red crossbills this morning in Carondelet Park. Perhaps this afternoon? Birders showed up at 7:30 a.m. and staked out the hemlock trees in southeast part of park off Leona and Loughborough. No crossbills by 11 a.m.
