Hawn State Park
St. Genevieve, Mo
Nov. 09, Friday

With much anticipation, I birded the Whispering Pines Trail for a total of 6 miles on Friday.
If the Pines were whispering, I couldn't make out what they were saying b/c of the chattering of birds.
Fun sightings include:
Red Crossbills( FOL) conservative estimate of 22. I came across 2 flocks but it was difficult to discern where one began and ended.
Pine Siskins- all over- as others have noted, love their rising zzzz.
Red-breasted Nuthatch were also strong.
