Park at the entrance to parking lot at the South end of lake, there is a chain across the entrance but area manager John Vogel says birders can walk past chain.Walk to far end of parking lot and cross mud flat ( they are draining lake for repairs, water is down about 5 feet exposing mud flat). Walk out about 50 yards between the 2 clumps of trees that used to be islands. The bird was further ahead and to the right a little feeding in shallow water among some driftwood and standing timber'

Long neck and bill, white line down middle of front of neck, flew a little and could see pattern under wings. Was putting on quite a show fanning out wings while feeding.
