The German III session of the South Atlantic Modern Language Association invites abstracts for a panel on “Reconsidering Migration in German Culture” at its 2012 Convention, to be held from November 9-11, 2012 in Durham, NC.
This panel invites papers that take advantage of temporal distance, theoretical critiques, and work-specific descriptions of migration in German-speaking contexts. The panel welcomes papers that focus on emigration from German-speaking countries as well as those engaging immigration to Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. Papers may consider fitting within the 2012 general conference theme, “Text as Memoir: Tales of Travel, Immigration, and Exile.” Please send a one-page abstract, a CV, and audio-visual requirements to Ian Wilson ([log in to unmask]) by Saturday, June 30, 2012.
