The St. Louis Audubon Society is sponsoring a birding field trip to Castlewood
State Park in west St. Louis County on Saturday April 14th at 8:00 AM.

DIRECTIONS: Take Reis Road south of the intersection with Big Bend Road until
it ends at Kiefer Creek Road. Take the left into the park entrance. MEET in
the first parking lot on the right immediately after the park office.

PLAN: This is a half day trip and will include some moderate hiking.

GOAL: Castlewood State Park has several habitat types that attract both migrant
and resident species. We will look for early spring warblers like Northern
Parula, Louisiana Waterthrush, Yellow Throated Warbler, and Prothonotary Warbler

BRING: Bring your binoculars, water, and good hiking shoes. The mosquitoes can
be intense at this time of year, so be prepared with repellent and/or head net.

TRIP COST: Free! Everyone is welcome, members and non-members.
