Steve Kinder and I birded Squaw Creek NWR this morning and tallied twenty-one (21) species of waterfowl, plus various other bird species. It was very windy all morning and the passerine count was quite low. We did end up with 50+ species of birds.

* After lunch in Mound City we did a quick tour around the oxbows south of Saint Joseph and picked up one additional waterfowl species at Horseshoe Lake (Common Merganser).
