Same result re C Ground Dove around 1-2pm watching from gate while eating picnic lunches in van.  Since we had enjoyed glorious sunlit views of BK Leach adult male Snowy Owl this morning thanks to help from David Becher and Chrissy/Andy and all those that had refound the Owl previously.  Coles, Dean and Chain had seen Dove last year, so we were not exactly devastated; Lisa and Bob's carload had needed to return early, so they did not miss the temp missing Dove.  Group of five hunters arrived at trail as we were getting ready to leave and there had been a single bow hunter earlier.  Yes, we checked parking lot.  I expect it is still around somewhere, assuming a hunter didn't mistake it for a Mourning Dove.

By the way, we had met a local farmer south of Elsberry while looking for some possible Snow Geese, and he eagerly told us about the Snowy Owl.  All of us were pleased about his helpful interest.  There were a few adult and immature Bald Eagles flying over BK Leach and about the same number sitting in the trees across from the locks and dam at Winfield.
