Stopped by Longbranch this afternoon hoping to find the Western Grebe that has been reported. Did not find that bird, but while scoping the ring-billed gulls (with a few scattered herrings mixed in) I noticed a gull with a full black hood. It turned out to be a Franklin's gull in breeding plumage (very evident white eye crescents and red bill along with the full black hood).

Also saw the snow bunting on the jetty.
