There was a young Cooper's hawk on the ground in my back yard this morning. The little birds had flown away and were hiding from him, some in the woven fence screened by wintergreen in the back yard. He walked rapidly over to the fence and ducked in behind the screening plants twice in an effort to catch the little birds, which I have not observed before.
