Common Ground Dove was at the fork in the trail at about 11:15, at the gravel pile at 11:50, and in the west end of the  parking lot by 12:00.  It was still there when we left at 12.10.

Bryan Prather called to say that he saw the Common Ground Dove at the Blue Grosbeak Tr. in Weldon Springs at 7:30 this morning. The dove was at the top of the hill where it was first reported by Mike Brady and Mary Ann Auer. Apparently the dove covers some territory for it has been seen on the trail by the gravel mound near the gate all the way to where the trail forks. Bryan said rabbit hunters with their beagle flushed the bird into the grass; nevertheless, he advises that with patience the dove will come back to the road, where a host of birders have had optimal views of this state rarity.
