Bopping around the listserves of states adjacent/near MO, besides owls, there have been numbers of redpolls, crossbills reported. A few E. Grosbeaks, Varied Thrush, Townsend's Solitaire. The Great Lakes have also been having several western vagrants. In the "backyard" still have not heard R-B Nuthatches and have had Pine Siskins ever so often at the feeder or in the neighbors' Sweet gum trees. Keep your eyes and ears open for northern & western vagrants.
