I had a Bewick's Wren (listed as a rare summer resident in northern MO on the annotated checklist) singing in my backyard this morning in Bowling Green, Pike Co. I awoke at about 5:30 in a semi-stupor and it took me a while to "place" the song outside the window, at first unsure if it was part of a dream. It sang consistently for about 20 minutes.
