Overall bird numbers were down at Eagle Bluffs CA in Boone Co. this afternoon (~2pm-3:30pm) compared to last weekend. Highlights: 2 SANDHILL CRANES near the big green pipe by the lavatory, 1 AMERICAN GOLDEN-PLOVER in with all the ducks across from the access road to the Missouri River, 2 PECTORAL SANDPIPERS way out in the stubble in Pool 5, 1 EARED GREBE in non-breeding plumage in Pool 15, and 1 female RED-BREASTED MERGANSER. Several BLUE-WINGED TEAL scattered here and there as well.
