While on my way to Kentucky Saturday a.m., I observed two American White Pelicans in the spillway below Robert G. Delaney Lake CA. located just North of Charleston, MO. The Lake was frozen completely, but there was some open water in the spillway channel.
This is the earliest in the year that I have witnessed Am. White Pelicans this far south in MO. Not sure this is "normal", but what is normal any more!?
