The Carolina Wren that had been a regular in our yard has been missing since January 21. I don't know what happened to it—it could have fallen victim to the cold or to a hungry hawk.
By the way, the Red-tailed Hawk that grabbed a Mourning Dove in our yard yesterday was an immature.

I, too, have had a pair of Carolina Wrens, and at least one has survived and is visiting my peanut feeder as I type. Earlier at noon, I had a visit from a juvenile red-tail whom I've seen watching my feeders. It added a whole new dimension to bird feeding when I first realized the birds I enjoyed watching at my feeders were themselves feed. The juvie left with a junco.
