Drove around Columbia Bottoms Weds lunchtime, nothing unusual but had
great close up views of a Harrier cruising the reed beds and a Kestrel that
landed on on athin branch about 10 feet away from my car, she was a
beauty.Lots of Am Tree Sparrows and R/t Hawks inc a dark morph.
Nothing much at RMBS either, not much open water.Mergies, Golden Eyes and
a few other Ducks.Lots of Gulls on the ice on both sides of the Dam but
couldn't make out anything other than R/B & Herrring.
Went up Confluence Rd to the yellow machines , saw a large Hawk disappear
into tthe distance but couldn't see it for long enough to tell if it was the
Roughie.
On Red School Rd just south of Weiss there was a flock of Laplanders and
ofcourse a load of Hornies. Some great raptor close encounters made the trip
worthwhile but no foy's today. Les Jenkins
