At 3:30 p.m. today, there were about 20 Mississippi Kites at the junction of Gravois Road (Rte 30) and Grants Farm. I saw one catch a dragonfly. They were there for at least 20 minutes and made rather a spectacular display. Several were molting flight feathers. The sun did not allow me to ascertain the number of adults and immatures.
