Mobirders, We made 3 trips to Firma Road: early am., midday and late. I think we totaled 12 species of shorebirds, but only a couple had significant numbers. Buff-breasted Sandpiper Stilt Sandpiper Lesser Yellowlegs Semi-palmated plover Am. Golden-plover Long-billed Dowitcher (30 min study and consult with books from about 30 yards with 32 x scope) Killdeer (many) Least Sandpiper (many) Pectoral Sandpiper (many) Spotted Sandpiper Solitary Sandpiper Semi-palmated Sandpiper Missed the Baird's Sandpiper; Tom thought he had a Western, but we could not re-find it after they flew. Dark Ibis was only seen in the a.m. trip. We had more Belted Kingfishers today than I ever recall seeing in one day--well over 20 birds in St. Charles Co. ------------------------------------------------------------ The Audubon Society of Missouri's Wild Bird Discussion Forum List archives: https://po.missouri.edu/archives/mobirds-l.html
