Drove my Columbia Bottom circuit early afternoon. 2 stilts in pond 9, where
it flows into the corn field; looked like they might nave been mobbing a
great egret(?). Might that be nest or nestling defense behaviour? By the
way -- what does one call stilt young: chick, stiltlet, stiltling?
Kingfisher was flitting around the slough crossing. MANY great & snowy
egret, little blue heron in the fluddles, not many great blue heron. NO
sandhill cranes, pelicans, turkey or even turkey vultures.
Corn is getting really high!
