From St. L:
I-255 south to Columbia, IL
Exit on Rt. 3 into Columbia, IL
Take next exit for Palmer Road and go past Convenience Store to stop sign.
Go straight onto Bluff Road for a few miles.
Then turn right onto Steppig road.
Few miles down Steppig as it will run into Levee Road
Few more miles on Levee Road to Road B
At this intersection go WEST on Road B ~ 2.0 miles (not south)
You will pass a house that is getting a new roof. (from all the tornado
damage a few weeks ago)
Another ~ 0.5 miles from the house is the large mound of burned trees on
their sides with root balls
right along the road.
Bird is hanging out in among this mass of roots, downed trees and dirt.
Have to agree that disturbance should be kept to a minimum so please be
quiet,
stay in your car and use it as a blind.

GREAT find Lorrie Vit!! THANKS!
Life St. L and state bird for me. Life St. L for Jim.
