An early morning hike along the river trail at Castlewood SP,St Louis Co
produced n-parula,yellow-throated warbler
blue-grey gnatcatcher,tree and rough-wing swallow
Was able to spot at least 2 red-shoulder hawk nest sites
Was still fairly chilly and wet so bird song was not that great

Along a section of the Grotpeter trail had a L-waterthrush's on territory
All species of woodpecker observed with a good showing of sapsuckers
Hermit thrush and winter wren seen

Had another sighting of the the very rare Castlewood Guan along the
western border of the park yesterday eve.Actually its just a tailless peacock
that has somehow survived the winter and the local coyotes. The first time I
spotted it this past Fall it was up in a tree and looked exactly like a guan
