Up hear in the NEMO, we're seeing big numbers of Great-horned and Barred Owls... I've seen 15 individuals in two days... Must be a good year for them?

Subject: Castlewood SP birds 3/19

While running this evening along the creek trail at Castlewood SP ,St Louis CO, saw and heard my first Louisana waterthrush of the season.
 other sighting of  interest around Castlewood
 
-woodcocks have been displaying since about mid Feb.Usually one or two are displaying in the field along the river trail
-Great blue heron rookery(across and down river  from the boat ramp) is starting to kick into gear with several birds returning.
 -At least 3 separate pairs of Barred owls have been checking out nest sites.
 -fox sparrows singing a lot
 -red shoulder hawks very vocal and active
 -this evening there was decent showing of both little brown and red bats grabbing insects around the office parking lot
